Got a message from Google or Apple? Start here
Apple and Google send these messages to every app developer. Here's what each one means for your BDK app.
We don't send deadline reminders. Apple and Google tell you themselves, by email and in your Play Console or App Store Connect, when your app needs something new.
"Your app targets an old API level" (Google Play)
- BDK Android builds made since July 9, 2025 target API level 36. Older build, or Google asks for more? Rebuild
- Read more
"Your app doesn't support 16 KB memory page sizes" (Google Play)
- Every BDK build & rebuild made after October 21, 2025 supports 16 KB pages. Want to publish an update from an older build? Rebuild first
- Read more
"Your app uses an old version of Play Billing Library" (Google Play)
- Check it even if your app sells nothing. BDK Android builds made since July 9, 2025 use Billing library 8.0.0
- Read more
"Your iOS distribution certificate is expiring" (Apple)
- Read the article below first. Not sure if it applies to your project? Message us on the chat

"Firebase Dynamic Links are shutting down" (Google Firebase)
- Firebase dynamic links stopped working on August 25, 2025. Our alternatives are Branch and ChottuLink: add your details in build settings, then rebuild

"My Android app stopped opening for some users" (after a phone update)
- Builds made before October 2025 carry an older component that some newer Android versions don't support. Rebuild, then publish the update

Apple or Google rejected your app?
How do I request a rebuild?
- Go to your BDK project page.
- Open your project's Dashboard and tap Request rebuild (or use an available rebuild in the Purchases tab).
- When the new build is ready, publish it as an update from your own Play Console or App Store Connect. Apple and Google review it.
What does it cost?
- It comes out of your banked rebuilds. Every build purchase comes with 4, valid for 12 months from payment
- None left? An extra rebuild is $19 (prices as of 19 October 2026)
- Find them in your project's Purchases tab, or tap Request rebuild on your project's Dashboard
